Topic: EPA Advisory...

Hi everyone.  Linda asked me to post an article on the website about a recent EPA advisory concerning chemical-based flea and tick products.  Here's the link: http://www.mohrbouviers.com/epa-advisor … -products/

If anyone would like to offer any input based on your own experiences, please feel free!

Re: EPA Advisory...

I made the decision not to use the spot-on treatments this year.  It just did not feel right to me to put these chemicals on my dogs.  And it did not make sense to me because they do not repel ticks, the ticks have to bite the animal before the ticks will die, so what is the point, the tick has already potentially transmitted a disease, right?  We have not had that much of a problem anyway....perhaps the free range chickens keep the ticks under control (can someone please explain that to Egor?)  I would be interested in knowing what natural products work, though, because I sure do not want a flea infestation.

Re: EPA Advisory...

I'm with you, Kay.  I contemplated purchasing some Spot-On while waiting for the natural stuff to kick in until Linda shared this advisory.  I did, however, purchase a flea/tick collar for Hussi in the meantime.  I also bought a bottle of Adams anti-flea/tick spray for around my apartment just in case.
