Topic: Watermelon Snack

Last night, before heading off to bed, I decided to scoop out the remainder of the watermelon half we had in our refrigerator. Completing my task, I left the half watermelon rind intact and in the sink for us to throw out the next morning.

This morning I was informed by Karl that "Miss Bossy Paws" otherwise known as Belle had not only found the watermelon rind but had decided it was too good to throw out!!  She also found out that eating watermelon and not being able to go outside for 7 hrs. is not a good idea.  There was a small flood in our kitchen which was stopped by Belle's giant pillow bed!!  When Karl took her outside she had to stop and rid herself of more watermelon juice 3 more times in a 4 minute walk.

Time will tell if Belle learned her lesson and exactly how smart she is!!!  But I know I learned my lesson.....I can leave meat out but definitely NO watermelon.

I am pleased to report the flood was cleaned up and bedding washed before I left for work and Belle was no longer crossing her legs.

Re: Watermelon Snack

Ha ha!  Wow, I wonder if Belle and Hussi were on the same wavelength this week.  Hussi "discovered" some leftovers in the trash earlier this week and found out that some of them just didn't agree with her.  Needless to say, she spent time in her crate, strategically laying *around* her "deposits."  By the time I got home from work, she was so embarrassed and upset with herself that she was practically seeping through the crate walls just to stay away from..."herself."

Never ceases to amaze me just how sensitive a Bouvier is.  All I have to do is look at her a certain way and she cowers.  (Actually, helps me practice a bit of my own patience, as Dad mentioned to me a Bouvier will do!)  smile
